A Summer Wedding Extravaganza in Croatia

We’re about to set sail on a romantic adventure to the shores of Croatia for the ultimate summer extravaganza wedding. In short: (Stacy’s words)

On my fathers side we have Croatian roots, from a small city called Crikvenica, my Grandmother Ivana was born there before they moved to Africa and Zach and I had our first ever holiday together as a couple in Split (at Ultra fest 😉 so Croatia seemed fitting when we chose a location for our destination wedding.

The initial thought of planning a wedding with little time off work, living abroad and in a foreign speaking country was terribly daunting. After 1.5years of planning via Zoom, we finally met Ivana when Zach & I went out to Split in April to view the venue & do our food tastings and we left feeling very at ease, confident that it would be our dream wedding from start to finish.

We had guests from our home countries of Zimbabwe & South Africa, friends from London where we now live as well as Dubai, Doha and Australia come over to Croatia for the big day and everyone was blown away by the gorgeous set up they had created and couldn’t compliment us or Ivana enough.

We had a three day celebration (two events arranged by Promessi) starting with a pre-wedding cocktail evening at Roof 68 to get festivities started and then the big day itself with very unpredictable weather and many moving parts but they just made it all go like clockwork.
