Moss-Covered Fairyland Wedding Inspiration
Friday calls for a bit of extra whimsy, don’t you think? We’re getting ready for the weekend with this beautiful styled shoot from LeeYen Photography, Betsy Couture, and Mille Fleur Design, with its Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired fairyland filled with green moss and lush floral arrangements. We simply adore the pops of gold here, especially against that amazing moss!
From the shoot stylist and gown designer, Betsy Couture: The seduction and magic of love is truly like a faerieland! Shakespeare wrote the greatest love stories of all time and one of the most magical and uniquely different is the story of the Faerie Queen Titania & Oberon. Taking that magical, elegant-woodsy, ethereal fairyland and infusing it into wedding is a match made in heaven!
This Faerie Queen bride is regal & stately, while being fiercely feminine and portrays her magical powers in a seductive way. Her gown, The Gilda, designed by Betsy Couture, features layers upon layers of soft, glitter-infused tulle under a unique art deco lace; all in a beautiful blush. The magnificent oversize, lace-laden train adds the drama she craves. Not to be outdone by anyone, she dons a power crown laden with faerieland friends; pastel jeweled dragonflies and butterflies are her crown jewels. This exquisite firefly crown designed by Maria Elena Headpieces is the power statement indeed!
Kate Spade “Dragonfly” china is elegant and simple with gold-leaf place mats, wood and gold trimmed glass chargers atop a table of dripping moss which brought the faerie feeling to life. Majestic florals and fruits by Mille Fleur Design, stimulate the senses as they cascade everywhere. Brass garden stools, hand lettered gold place cards by Hanwriting, Oberon type antlers as napkin rings and the centerpiece, fancy fruits to nibble on, along with ornate woodsy goldware create a magically romantic setting. To top it off, the exquisite lavender toned cake shows off all-sugar oversized flowers! All hand made by the talented Flour and Flourish! I love that Ceci New York incorporated the woodsy-fruit & flowers into the gold laden invitation suite.
From the floral designer, Mille Fleur Design: Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream is the perfect mix of magic and romance… with a touch of decadence! I immediately knew we should use lots and lots of moss for a magical woodland setting, with drippy greenery, beautiful fruit, flowers and vines to help it feel sumptuous and enchanting. I chose flowers with elegant shapes in rich jewel tone colors that would accent the gown and the table settings:
Fresh Green Moss, Blushing Bride Protea, Pink and Purple Lisianthus, Shimmer Roses, Dark Pink Larkspur.
